Frequently Asked Questions

Q.) Why would I want to negotiate as a group?

A.) By using collective bargaining, we exercise the right to be included in decisions such as pay, return to office mandates, benefits, and more. Collectively we can speak with a louder voice than we can individually

Q.) If I fill out this form does that mean I'm obligated to join a union?

A.) No. You are only signaling your interest in organizing a union at DTNA. The final decision to join a union will be done by vote only once an agreement is drawn up for review

Q.) Can I be fired for trying to join a union?

A.) No, you cannot be fired for organizing a union. Your right to collectively bargain is protected under federal law. Find out more from the National Labor Relations Board at NLRB.gov

Q.) How much would Union dues be?

A.) Dues will not be determined until final review of the agreement prior to voting

Q.) Does DTNA need to accept a Union?

A.) If a union is recognized by NLRB and a majority of Employees show interest in joining, DTNA must engage in good faith bargaining with the union.

Q.) Which union would DTNA become part of?

A.) There are many unions we could choose to affiliate with, including:
-UAW (United Auto Workers)
-SEIU (Service Employees International Union)
-AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations)
-Many more...

We could also decide to form our OWN union!
